The beautiful Spa town of Cheltenham on the edge of the Cotswolds

With a population of approximately 117.000, Cheltenham is a beautiful, large Spa town on the edge of the stunning picturesque Cotswolds.  Home to several National and International festivals including; The Jazz Festival, The Cricket Festival, the Literature Festival, the Science Festival and of course the Cheltenham Gold Cup Horse racing extravaganza.

If you are visiting Cheltenham for the first time it’s a good idea to go online and check out web designers Cheltenham to look for local parking places, attractions, restaurants and retail outlets etc. The Mechanical Wishing Fish clock in the Regent shopping arcade is worth stopping to see as it blows bubbles over the spell bound audience as gold balls travel around the outside of the structure and music blares out. The beautiful Regency architecture of the buildings and the fact that many of them are listed makes it a stunning, interesting City to stroll around.

The World renown graffiti Artist “Banksy” placed one of his elite masterpieces, three men in trench coats with dark glasses, next to a telephone box in a residential area to make it look like the men were listening in to the calls. There are several unusual sculptures scattered around the town to keep residents and visitors highly entertained. “The Hare and the Minotaur” in the Promenade, a life-sized Emperor Penguin made of bronze in the Wilson Art gallery and “Neptune’s Fountain” also in the Promenade. Cheltenham town is certainly worth a visit, whether for just a day or to stay for a weekend in any one of its fabulous hotels.
