Exfoliate

Cold weather can be very drying for your skin, and as we cover up during winter, we may not exfoliate as regularly as we should. As summer approaches, it’s the perfect time to exfoliate your face and the rest of your body, sloughing off dead cells and giving yourself a more polished look.

Switch to summer products

Winter products may be richer and heavier than those designed for summer, and they might not allow your skin to breathe as easily. When winter ends, pack away the heavy creams and opt for lighter, breathable water-based moisturisers that won’t make your skin oily when exposed to the sun or warmer temperatures. The less oil your skin produces, the less likely you are to suffer from clogged pores!

Wear Sunscreen

If you know what the sun can do to your skin, you’ll always wear sunscreen. A little bit of vitamin D is a good thing, but if you overdo it, you’ll end up sunburnt, and that’s just about one of the most damaging things you can do to your skin!

Moisturise

Your skin may be oilier because of the hotter weather, but that does not mean you shouldn’t moisturise. Your skin still needs to be moisturised during summer, and this is even more important if you spend a lot of time in the water, which can have a drying effect.
