Starting up Your New Business

Choose a name for your business – this is important so don’t just pluck any name out of thin air as it will be a bit of a headache to change further down the line! Check on Companies House to make sure that the name isn’t taken, but don’t get your logos and printing done on letterheads, packaging etc, until you are certain you are happy!

Find a place to work from – you may be able to run your business from home for the time being, but you may need a little more room or you may not have space in your home. Start hunting for a suitable business property to rent. Of course, it depends on the type of business that you are in, but if you will be on your own to start with, and most of your work can be done on a computer, look for places that offer a desk rental.
