Three Ways to Reduce your Stress Levels

There are many techniques that we can use to help calm us down. Life can be stressful and taking time out for yourself to calm down, unwind and look after your mental health is something that many more people are now starting to think about more which is a great thing.

Because we are all different however, there is no one size fits all formula and what works for one person may not work for another, so if you are looking for ways to relax and unwind, you might need to try out a few different things in order to find what it is that works for you. Here are a few popular ways that might help you to relax…

Spending time in nature – Being outdoors with nature is something that can work wonders for combatting stress. We were not designed to live in towns and cities with bright lights and noise and being in the peace and solitude of nature can really help to fight the stress of modern living and help to ground us. Walking in the autumn and winter is magical, with the vibrant colours of the trees in the autumn giving way to the tranquil frosty landscapes of winter – so wrap up warm and get out and give it a go!

Knitting – One of the best ways to relax and calm down is knitting! This is also a great activity in the winter as you can produce lots of lovely warm clothing and blankets too, which also make great Christmas gifts. Knitting is known to lower blood pressure and the soothing flow of doing the knitting is a real help when you want to switch off and relax. It can also help you to break unhealthy habits like smoking or using your phone too much as it keeps your hands busy. It is easy to get into too, you can order a knitting kit and find a tutorial to get you started off.
