Are you old enough to have “Looked at Life from Both sides now” like Joni Mitchell?

Canadian born singer-songwriter, Joni Mitchell recorded probably her best-known song and smash hit “Both Sides Now” in 1969.  The song’s lyrics are based on an individual’s long-hard look at a life that’s been lived with some regrets along the way.  Also recorded by several other famous artists such as; Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra, Herbie Hancock and Gang of Youths, “Both sides Now” has proven to be a hit song time and time again.

The lyrics speak of “Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels and fairy tales coming true” and also “Ice cream Castles in the air and feather Canyons everywhere” these are all positive thoughts and memories of good times spent at Carnivals and summer holidays.  The suggestion all the way through the cleverly written lyrics is that the person who wrote the words is now older and possibly living in a Care Home Taunton or other part of the Country and reminiscing on their some times unhappy  life.  If you’re looking for a good Care Home in Taunton then search Companies such as https://www.notarohomes.co.uk/care-home/dementia-nursing-care-home-taunton/ and make an appointment to go and speak to someone.

The last verse of the somewhat sad song includes the words; “I’ve looked at Life from Both sides now, from Win and Loose and still somehow.  It’s Life’s illusions I recall, I really don’t know life at all!”  Meaning that looking back at their past life the writer still can’t work out what it was all about!
