An Overview of Air Conditioning Units

Air conditioning, heating, and air conditioning systems are the primary technology of vehicular and indoor environmental control. Its purpose is to supply suitable indoor air quality and thermal comfort to the occupants of the building it is installed in. The AC system is instrumental in maintaining the indoor temperature in the building during the summer months and in ensuring that the heating of the building remains at a comfortable level throughout the year. Air conditioning systems provide comfort and convenience to the occupants of the building they are installed in. One of the best companies to call for that is ACCEC the Air conditioning Gloucester based experts.

Air conditioners are grouped according to their cooling cycle; the two most common cooling cycles are the refrigerant cooling and the phase warmer air conditioning cycle. The difference between these two cycles is that the refrigerant cools the air and the phase warmer the air and by introducing denser vapors into the colder regions of the air conditioner it provides the required heat to the occupants of the building. The main components of the air conditioner are the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. The evaporator takes warm water and vaporizes it into the chilled refrigerant gas, while the condenser condenses the cooled water into a low moisture solution, which is then discharged into the expansion tank.

There are three types of air conditioners available in the market. The portable AC is for use in small rooms or indoors where the room temperature is not critical and can be tolerated by the air conditioner. The stand-alone air conditioner is made up of one or more AC appliances and is intended to be installed in rooms where direct cooling and heating of the air are not required. Another kind of air conditioner is the central air conditioner, which is made up of an AC unit, a compressor, a condenser and a metering device. Air conditioning system is a vital component of the HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) system in order to keep the indoor environment comfortable and safe for the health and well-being of the people living inside the house.
